Hot Springs History Lesson 1
frank "jelly" nash (gentleman bank robber) was arrested out front of the White Front Club on central ave (now its the old timey photos place next to the wax museum)... he was alvin "creepy" karpis's bank robbing heist buddy (alvin karpis was the last public enemy #1)... nash was taken by the fbi (who at that time were not allowed to carry weapons) by train to malvern, then ft. smith and on to kansas city where he was being sent to serve his life sentence at leavenworth penitentiary... hot springs police were hiding him here because nash bribed them... and when he was arrested the hot springs police tipped off his outlaw buddies that he was being sent to kansas city... so his outlaw buddies intercepted the train and killed all of the fbi agents and even nash was accidently killed in the battle... that is also known as the "Kansas City Massacre"... and after that J. Edgar Hoover (director of the FBI at time) made it to where FBI agents could carry weapons... the end
